BIOGRAPHY:

Tim Pivet is a 3rd year student at Sciences Po Lyon. After studying for 1 semester at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, he is doing a 4-month internship at the CSH under the supervision of Dr Joël Cabalion from February to June 2024. His work is to carry out various exploratory missions in Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand, through several weeks of immersion in the field. This work will particularly focus on the question of forest management and wildlife encounters. Thus, his fieldwork centers around the issues of environmental protection, so as to understand the effectiveness of environmental management policies and how they are perceived by the local population. This perspective also takes into account the multiple challenges affecting the region of Mukteshwar, specifically the transformation of the area and its population as a result of the increasing pressures of hill-station-related tourism.
