Biography
Hilary Silver is Professor of Sociology and Urban Studies and Professor of Public Policy at Brown University, in Providence, RI USA. She is also an Affiliate of the Center for European Studies at Harvard and a Fellow of the Comparative Research Programme on Poverty. An urban sociologist who works on aspects of social exclusion, she has just completed two terms as Editor of the urban sociological journal, City & Community, and consulting for the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs in connection to the Sustainable Development Goals.
