Nitin BATHLA

Nitin is a PhD Candidate at the Chair of Sociology, DARCH, ETH Zurich. His doctoral research focuses on reading the urban transformations in the extended urban region of Delhi through environmental and land contestations. He is sensing the transformations in territorial regulation, infrastrastrctures through mobile ethnographic methods based in and around transforming villages in the region. Some of the cases include Dwarka Expressway, Villages inside New Gurgaon, Bhiwadi, and Manesar. He has a background in Architecture and Urban Design, and prior to his PhD stint at ETH, he has worked in policy research and social design in India.
