[Selection] MEAE “Islamoloy” Grant’s Candidates.
The CSH is delighted to announce the selection of the following candidates of the research grants in “Islamology”, provided by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) to support young researchers. The CSH is honored to serve as the host institution for these candidates by providing an environment to an effective research.
Lola Cindric a PhD Fellow of Social Anthropology and Ethnology at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS-CESAH) Paris, for a period of six months starting from July 2024 till December 2024. Her research focuses on the past and current connections between Florence, Italy, and Agra, India, when it comes to the craft of stone inlaying (also known as pietra dura or pacchikārī). During her stay at the CSH, she will concentrate more specifically on the links between artisanal work, social hierarchy and religious (self-)identification, beliefs and practices among the stone inlayers of Agra.
Hugo Dones is a PhD Fellow of Political Anthropology at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS-CESAH) Paris. He will be working on student politics at three different campuses located in Hyderabad and in Delhi during his stay at CSH from February 2024 until July 2024, with a particular emphasis on Muslim student unions.
