Abstract:

This presentation will explore the long-term effects of an ‘ideal’ land-based resettlement of forest-dwelling Adivasi households displaced due to a conservation project in Central India. It explores differential livelihood trajectories and risk-bearing capabilities arising from two types of land distribution lotteries, within the wider context of a truncated agrarian transition in neoliberal India.
