Biography:

Max Lanjouw has joined the CSH as a research assistant working on the project “Extreme Poverty – Building Evidence for Effective Action” under the supervision of professor Himanshu. In 2022 he obtained his Master’s in Economics from the Barcelona School of Economics. There he focussed on development and experimental economics, publishing his thesis on the effects of responsibility on the delegation of decision rights. Prior to that, Max obtained his BA in Social Sciences from the University College Utrecht. There he majored in Economics, Geography and History. His Bachelor’s thesis studied the determinants of the rural-urban subjective well-being gap in South Africa.

Max combines a keen sense of intellectual curiosity with a solid grounding in Economic thought and an understanding of econometric and statistical techniques.
