BIOGRAPHY:

Romain Simenel is an Anthropologist, and a researcher at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD). He studies the relations between societies and environments, or more simply between humans and other existing beings, from two angles, otherness and learning, which he considers as the two pillars of cultural transmission. Assigned since 2021 to the CSDS in Delhi and visiting scholar at the CSH, he is currently working on the role of ritual in environmental management in two different fieldworks, northern Himachal Pradesh and western Tamil Nadu. He has published three anthropological books and coordinated the book of the COP 21 Climate Change meeting in Paris entitled Ecology of our worlds.
