He joined the CSH in March 2001. His area of special interest is democratic decentralization in India. He has worked on several projects on the subject exploring its different dimensions: Locating space for panchayats in state politics, perspective of legislatures on panchayats, interpreting the role of rural local self government institution in promoting local democracy.
