[Job Offer] Research Assistant in statistics/econometrics

The Centre de Sciences Humaines (CSH) invites applications for research assistant in statistics/econometrics on a full-time basis, starting on 1st September 2019.

Major responsibilities
  • Statistical/econometric analyses of IHDS data (India Human Development Survey) which has already been compiled and documented in 2018 at CSH (about 1000 variables on 40,000 households for two rounds: 2004-05 and 2011-12)
  • Compile, document, verify and analyse some data from NSSO surveys and other sources to support and refine the above analysis
  • Answer the question “Who are the milk producing households in India according to IHDS surveys?” (from social or production dimensions to consumption behaviours)
  • Documentation (databases, codes) and report writing (results)
Expected qualifications & requirements
  • Good knowledge and experience in statistics, economics and econometrics
  • Good knowledge and experience in data processing and code writing in various software (Excel, Access, SAS, R, Stata…)
  • Interest in agriculture, livestock, poverty and environmental issues
  • Discipline, curiosity, sense of initiative and ability to work in a team
  • Strict confidentiality: no use or dissemination of databases, codes and results outside the project mentioned above
Duration of contract

3-month contract, from 1st September 2019 to 30 November 2019

Monthly salary

Between 50,000 to 80,000 Rupees (all-inclusive, full-time job) according to degree (minimum post-graduation) and professional experience.
