[Job Offer] Quantitative Research Assistant at CSH, Deadline – 28 March 2023.

Job Summary:

This Research Assistant (RA) position is for a period of four months for the project “Women and science, gender inequalities in higher education and scientific careers: Examples of engineering and medicine in India” managed by Centre de Sciences Humaines (CSH), New Delhi, and funded by the Women and Science Chair at Paris Dauphine-PSL University, Paris. The RA will work with Dr Pradeep Kumar Choudhury, Assistant Professor of Economics, Zakir Husain Centre for Educational Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and with Odile Henry, Director of CSH, Delhi.

Prerequisite:

A promising researcher with MA/MS in Economics/Statistics/Demography, with prior experience in large-scale unit level data. Sound knowledge of statistical software like STATA/R and MS Excel. Candidates who worked with NSSO, IHDS & NFHS data will be preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • To handle the microlevel data of different NSSO rounds, IHDS, NFHS and other data sources. Tasks include data cleaning, data preparation, and analysis.
  • Writing project reports is also a part of the work package. Fluency in English and excellent written and oral skills.

Status & Remuneration:  

This is a full-time job.  The monthly emoluments will be Rs. 35,000- Rs. 40,000 /- per month, depending on experience, skills and performance.
