About the Movie: Summer 2015, Paris, La Chapelle district. Hundreds of recently arrived exiles from East Africa are abandoned to their fate on the sidewalks of Paris. Supported by local residents, they struggle to recreate a camp that allows them to protect themselves from the police and claim their rights, in France, to asylum. Few months later, after obtaining accommodation, Ismaïl and Fathi tell us about their exile, their arrival in Paris and about solidarity. http://www.iskra.fr/Bariz#article23571

The director: Nicolas Jaoul is a french Anthropologist (CNRS/IRIS) and documentary filmmaker who has specialized on the ethnography of the Ambedkarite movement in India. Recently, he took part in the movement of solidarity with migrants in France and started working on the politicization of camp sites. Bariz is his second film.
