About the movie: In this documentary, the award-winning director Faiza Ahmad Khan chronicles a group of men pursuing an ambitious dream: making a remake of Superman in Malegaon, a town of Maharashtra plagued by communal tensions. A comic and tragic tribute to what cinema represents in India.
About the festival: INDIE TALKIES is a series of film projections curated by the Centre de Sciences Humaines (CSH) and hosted by Alliance Française de Delhi (AFD). Happening once a month, the lineup includes feature-length films and documentaries from across the country, showcasing a diversity of languages, formats and aesthetic sensibilities. It aims to discuss the different financial, artistic, and political facets of independence in filmmaking.
